Maybe we’re biased but we truly believe The Kanini Estate is the best place to stay in Hawaii, especially for active families! OK, we’re definitely biased but it’s nice to hear that our guests also share this sentiment. But don’t just take our word for it, here’s some recent unfiltered guest feedback we received after they stayed with us at The Kanini Estate (posted with permission).
After always booking vacations at the big family resorts, we decided it was time for a change so we looked for the best place to stay in Hawaii for an active family like ours. We like to travel with other families so our kids (and us adults) have friends we can play with so we invited 2 other families in hopes we could rent a big mansion on the Big Island. As you know, we chose The Kanini Estate, which turned out to be the best decision we could have made!
Your ultra luxurious property did not disappoint! We had a group of 12 including the kids so we needed A LOT of room. With 8 king beds there was plenty of space and privacy. The multiple master bedrooms with indoor/outdoor bathrooms, gorgeous floor to ceiling fleetwood sliding doors that opened up to the pool, and your stunning view of the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other was more than we could have hoped for. There was so much space that it didn’t feel too cramped or awkward traveling with the other families that came with us.
We’re a very active family so having that gym at the house plus the membership at the Mauna Lani sports club was amazing. I was able to attend the daily tennis clinics and the kids got a few private lessons. We even booked pickleball courts and got to play for the first time. Needless to say we had an absolute blast. The fact that we didn’t even need paddles because the house and the tennis club supplied them was a nice touch.
Your house is one of those rare gems that we cannot wait to go back to. The location on a private, gated ocean front road felt very private and secure. And you are so close to the best coffee shop, restaurants, farmers market, and gourmet grocery store that meals were a very easy and enjoyable experience. We also walked to the beach and along that beautiful coastal shore right from the backyard.
Lastly, waking up to the fully stocked coffee bar and sitting and staring into that magnificent ocean view was truly the most incredible way to start the day. Our first experience staying at a vacation rental rather than a resort changed our mind about how we vacation because you gave us all of the hotel amenities we expected and more with the amenities of a really big, modern house.
The Kanini Estate had it all. It definitely feels like a 5 star resort but with so much space for everyone to enjoy. My only feedback is you that should have told us to book longer!
